OUR PROGRAMS
Through its programs, the Foundation seeks to carry out important work for the benefit of the Manabí community.
COMUNITARIO PROGRAM
With this program the Foundation provides free basic eye care in urban areas, sites and rural communities of the province that do not dispose of it.
BAJA VISIÓN PROGRAM
This program serves people who have suffered a significant loss of visual capacity that cannot be corrected with glasses, treatment or surgery. Its objective is to help patients with low vision to use their remaining vision in their daily activities.
LUZ PROGRAM
With the Luz Program, attention is provided to people with no vision or with a vision lower than 20/400 to enable and/or rehabilitate them, with the purpose of achieving their social, educational and labor inclusion.
RESURGIR PROJECT
In April 2016 a strong earthquake affected the province of Manabí. Several homes of visually impaired people, beneficiaries of the Light Program, were seriously affected. In consideration of the need for these people and their families to have a safe place to live, where they could continue their rehabilitation process, the Resurgir Project was born in order to build them new homes or help them repair the ones they had.
ESCOLAR PROGRAM
This Program, which for the moment is suspended, had the purpose of correcting refractive defects in schoolchildren, for which it was necessary to perform visual acuity tests to all students in the province of Manabí in their own schools, provide optometric care to those who were detected with a visual problem and then provide glasses with their respective prescription to those who needed them.
